Aaron Ramsey in telling Rangers verdict as he is 'enjoying playing again' after Ibrox misery

Aaron Ramsey says he's back to playing with a smile on his face - just months after ending a miserable loan at Rangers.

The midfielder was hailed as one of Scottish football's biggest signing in terms of stature when he arrived on loan from Juventus in January for the second half of last season. He was signed to deliver in big moments but instead failed to play a consistent run of matches, featuring 13 times for Rangers before infamously missing the decisive penalty in a shoot-out loss during May's Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

After some advice from his former boss at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, the Welsh international is now in Ligue 1 with Nice and insists it's been nice to get happy again. Ramsey told The Mirror : “I am enjoying playing again, getting some minutes under my belt. There are worse places to come and play football.

"He (Wenger) thought it was a good move. It was good to see him and speak to him again. We had 10 years together.

“Of course he was aware of the project here – he was excited by it all. I think he keeps an eye on most of the players that have played under him at Arsenal.

"He’s definitely going to be keeping an eye on me and how we’re doing here. It was nice to reminisce about the past, go over some old stories."
