Aaron Ramsey handed breathless Rangers full debut prediction as former Ibrox star fears playmaker will be 'caught out'

Concerned Richard Foster reckons Aaron Ramsey need to adjust quickly to Scottish football as he prepares for his full Rangers debut.

Gio van Bronckhorst has revealed his plans to give the Welshman his first start for the club against Annan in the Scottish Cup.

The Juventus loanee has came off the bench twice so far in his Ibrox career but will have the chance on Saturday to impress against the League Two side.

But former Rangers defender Foster thinks the pace of the game in Scotland could prove tough for Ramsey to adjust to straight away.

He told The PLZ Football Show: “Ramsey’s career speaks for itself, with the teams he has played for and the games he has played in.

“He should be a real asset for Rangers, if he can stay fit.

“My worry is that he is thinking that he can come to Scotland after not playing a lot of games, and get up his fitness.

’Scottish football is a fast pace. You need to be fit.

“He is coming from Juventus, which is even slower than the English game, when compared to Scotland.

“Granted, Rangers dominate the ball in most games, but I imagine he will be caught out by the speed of the game initially.

“Once he finds his feet, he is obviously a top quality player.”
