Aaron Mooy's wife Nicola has revealed the Celtic star's 'S' celebration against St Johnstone was a touching message to their young daughter.
The Australian has been in inspired form for Ange Postecoglou's team since returning from the World Cup and has made himself a mainstay of their midfield. He's scored four times and assisted three since the season resumed and was on target again against the Perth Saints in a 4-1 win that restored their resounding advantage at the top of the league.
With five goals and six assists for the Hoops, the 32-year-old looks like an inspired signing and while he's known for his softly spoken personality, he wasn't shy about leading the celebrations after doubling their lead. Mooy took a wonderful pass from Jota out of the air before dinking the ball over Remi Matthews and was straight over to live it up in front of the jubilant visiting support.
Mooy was seen blowing a kiss before making an S with his fingers, and his wife Nicola revealed on Instagram it was a touching tribute to their daughter Skylar. Sharing a picture of her husband celebrating on her story, she wrote: "S is for our daughter x."
Mooy has been one of Celtic's most improved players this season but Postecoglou insisted he's yet to hit his ceiling - as is the case for all of his teammates. The manager said: “There's more to come from all of them - there's no reason for them to stay where they are or to be content with what they've done so far. All of them should improve and want to improve... my role is to make sure they do."
