Yankees fans were in for quite a scare on Saturday after star Aaron Judge went crashing through the outfield fence in Los Angeles while making an absurd catch against the Dodgers.
With New York leading 5–3 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez sent a sinker from pitcher Michael King flying into the outfield.
Martinez’s hit began losing steam as it travelled toward the right-field wall, resulting in a well-timed catch from Judge that sent him crashing through the door to the outfield bullpen.
The reigning AL MVP momentarily appeared in danger of exiting the game after trainers came out to look at him following the play. Shockingly, the 31-year-old managed to stay in the Yankees lineup and help his squad close out a big win over their NL West foe.

While Judge’s catch will likely receive plenty of deserved praise, New York would probably prefer to see its captain avoid any similarly scary situations going forward.
The Yankees (34–25) currently sit third in the AL East, 3.5 games behind the second-place Orioles (36–21) and 6.5 games back from the first-place Rays (41–19).
