Steve Clarke has revealed Aaron Hickey is unlikely to start Scotland 's friendly against Poland on Thursday.
The Bologna left-back was in line for a first senior cap after being called into Clarke's squad for the first time.
But the manager has revealed the defender has been struck by illness and did not train on Wednesday.
He said: “ Aaron Hickey woke up feeling a little bit unwell this morning.
“We left him out of training and we’ll see how he is. He’ll be doubtful to start”.
The manager also announced that neither captain Andy Robertson nor striker Lyndon Dykes will play any part at Hampden.
Clarke's side host the Poles in a hastily arranged friendly after Scotland had their World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine postponed.
Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, has suggested he won't feature in the game ahead of a play-off final against either Sweden or Czech Republic next week.
