Aaron Hernandez’s Brother, Dennis, Ordered to Be Re-Arrested After Missing Court Date

Former Connecticut quarterback and wide receiver Dennis Hernandez—the brother of deceased former Patriots and Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez—has been ordered to be re-arrested after missing a court date.

Hernandez, 37, was due to appear in court Friday related to a March incident where he was charged with throwing a brick at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn.

The former college athlete—known as D.J. during his playing days—was charged with a misdemeanor breach of peace.

According to police, a note was attached to the brick, which read: “To all media outlets, It’s about time you all realeyes [sic] the affect [sic] media has on all family members. Since you’re a world wide leader [sic] maybe you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up! Yours truly, Dennis J. Hernandez.”

Aaron, who played high school football in Bristol, died by suicide in April 2017 while serving a life sentence for the ’13 murder of Odin Lloyd.
