PATNA: Amid prevailing differences between Anand Mohan and the RJD over "Thakur" row, chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday reached former’s native village in Bihar's Saharsa to unveil statue of his grandfather late Ram Bahadur Singh and his uncle late Paramanand Singh Brahmchari, both freedom fighters, adding a fresh twist to the state politics.
Nitish’s visit to Panchgachhia village comes well six months after the state government brought amendment in the existing "Bihar Prison Manual" which ensured Anand’s premature release from jail after 16 years. The don-turned-politician had been serving a life term in the 1994 murder of then Gopalganj DM and IAS officer G Krishnaiah.
