AAIB flags air traffic controllers' procedural lapses in airprox incident; suggests measures to AAI

New Delhi, Airports Authority of India (AAI) should devise measures to ensure the effectiveness of handing over and taking over watch briefings for air traffic controllers, according to probe agency AAIB, which has flagged procedural lapses that contributed to an airprox incident in the Indian airspace in 2024.

Generally, Handing Over Watch (HOW) and Taking Over Watch (TOW) refer to the change of duty of an air traffic controller at the end of a shift.
