A main road in Oldham has been closed following a collision involving a pedestrian.
A672 Ripponden Road, in Moorside, has been partially blocked since around 5.30pm, following the incident between A62 Huddersfield Road and Northgate Lane. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) tweeted: "ROAD CLOSURE. Ripponden Road close to Moorside Garage.
"On-going Police Incident. Please avoid this area or take alternative route where possible. Local bus services @FirstManchester are using a diverted route.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the incident was an 'RTC involving a pedestrian' and witnesses at the scene say that a person was knocked down by car. Manchester Evening News has asked GMP and the North West Ambulance Service for further information about the nature of the incident, including injuries.
