A Nottinghamshire road will remain closed for the majority of the day after two men were seriously injured in a crash. Emergency services were called shortly after 7am on Tuesday, July 11, after two cars were involved in a collision on the A617 near Kelham.
The road has been closed between Hockerton and Newark for much of the day for investigation work and is expected to remain closed for several more hours as the scene is further examined. In an update at 5pm, Sergeant Craig Luckett, of Nottinghamshire Police ’s Roads Policing Unit and Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a very serious incident which has resulted in the serious injuries to two people.
“We are working to understand what happened in the moments leading up to it and are seeking assistance from any witnesses who may have seen this accident or arrived afterwards.” Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 86 of July 11, 2023.
