The A572 Chapel Street in Leigh has been reopened in both directions between the A547 at Warrington Road and Stott Wharf. According to Transport for Greater Manchester, the reason the road was initially closed was due to a road traffic collision.

Traffic monitoring website Inrix has confirmed the road was shut since the early hours of Saturday morning. Motorists were asked to seek an alternative route if heading this way.
There was no further information available about the nature of the collision. Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed the incident was cleared and the road reopened at around 5:40am.
