Police have issued a statement after a Nottinghamshire stretch of the A52 was closed in both directions. The main road was blocked on a stretch between junction 25 of the M1 and Bramcote Island from around 8.50am on Sunday, April 30.
National Highways advised motorists to allow extra time for their journeys and follow diversion routes before the road reopened at around 10.25am.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to the area due to concerns for a woman's safety. The incident has been resolved safely and the road will reopen shortly."
National Highways said in a tweet: "The A52 is now OPEN both directions between the B6003 Bardills Roundabout and A6007 Bramcote Island following an earlier incident. There are minimal residual delays and traffic is flowing freely through the area.
"Thanks for your patience." It had stated earlier: "The A52 has been closed in both directions between the B6003 Bardills Roundabout and A6007 Bramcote Island near Bramcote, Nottingham due to a Nottinghamshire Police-led incident. Please allow extra journey time if travelling in the area this morning. Updates to follow."
