Two people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash between a pedestrian and a motorcyclist on the A38 at a petrol station. The collision in Alfreton Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, happened at 6.40am on Tuesday, March 29.
Nottinghamshire Police said a male motorcycle rider was involved in the collision with a female pedestrian - both have been taken to hospital. The severity of their injuries is not yet known. Trentbarton buses have diverted due to the incident and the road has been closed for more than three hours while emergency services work at the scene.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Anyone with further information, who have not already spoken to police, call 101 quoting incident 72 of March 29, 2022." Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "Ongoing issues just over the border into Nottinghamshire this morning following a serious RTC on the A38. Delays likely, please allow extra time and follow diversions."

There is queuing traffic and congestion in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Huthwaite, Pinxton and Kirby in Ashfield, according to traffic monitoring website Inrix. There are also delays of up to 40 minutes for bus services around the area due to the heavy traffic nearby. Motorists should allow extra time for their journey if travelling near the scene.
