A Yankees broadcaster had the best response to John Sterling’s latest botched home run call

Look: John Sterling is 83 years old. It’s been a bit of a rough go this season for the New York Yankees radio play-by-play man, and it’s led to some not-so-great calls, like his “It’s gone!! … But caught” on a Giancarlo Stanton out.

This time? It was the Yankees in the field, when the Toronto Blue Jays’ Alejandro Kirk hit ball to right field that Stanton miraculously caught on the wall.

It was a heck of a play, but Sterling thought it was gone — which I get, Stanton was casual about it — and he wondered why everyone was standing around.

Enter his longtime broadcast partner, Suzyn Waldman: “Because Stanton caught the ball.”

Too funny!
