We’re finally at the pointy end of Australia’s first-ever The Golden Bachelor with Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden handing out his final rose tonight. However, there could be a possibility that this love story could come crashing down due to a cheeky Bachelor curse.
After nine drama-fuelled episodes, Australia’s first run of The Golden Bachelor has officially reached its end, with Sunny and Janette set to compete for the man’s heart in the grand finale.
However, as pointed out by New Idea, there could be a Bachelor curse that could impact the love story we’re all hoping for.
Per the publication, there appears to be a dark curse that hits Bachelor finales when they take place in South Africa, and unfortunately, The Golden Bachie‘s last shebang is in… South Africa.
Famously, in 2014, Bachelor at the time Blake Garvey took to South Africa for his finale, where he picked and proposed to Sam Frost. However, days later, headlines were lit up after it was revealed that the pair had broken up, and that he’d actually rekindled his relationship with runner-up, Louise Pillidge.
Then, 2019’s Matt Agnew also had his grand finale in South Africa, where he picked Chelsie McLeod. But unfortunately, the pair called it quits months later.
Will The Golden Bachelor be hit by the South Africa finale curse?
At the time of writing, it’s too early to say, as the finale has yet to take place. However, days before the history-making grand finale takes place, sneaky Bachie fans found Bear’s Facebook and discovered that his relationship status is “in a relationship”.
So, fingers crossed that this great hunk of spunk is unscathed by the curse.
