Brought together by a shared passion for innovation, iconic carmaker Mercedes-Benz and luxury fashion brand Moncler unveiled a new kind of collaboration at London Fashion Week.
PROJECT MONDO G is a unique art piece that merges Mercedes-Benz’s iconic G-Class with Moncler’s signature puffer jacket.
The centerpiece of Moncler’s The Art of Genius London show, the reveal moment, The Art of Imagination, celebrated the design as a brand new creation combining outstanding automotive and fashion design.
Weighing 2.5 tons, the G-Class is 4.6m in length, 2.8m in height and 3.4m in width. Amongst its most striking features are the high-gloss reflective surfaces and the huge zipper – a reference to the versatility of both products, vehicle and car.
Moncler’s first automotive collaboration, PROJECT MONDO G places Mercedes-Benz alongside the major brands and artists, including Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams and ROC NATION by Jay-Z, who have all partnered with the fashion house.
Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes-Benz Group AG said: ‘Two strong luxury brands offer an extraordinary new experience by combining the automotive and fashion world united in one piece. Because of over-dimensional and exaggerated language of forms it’s polarizing art to set new impulses and trends.’
