A TV production firm in North Wales is giving its staff a day off on St David's Day as it calls on the Welsh and UK Governments to make the patron saint's day a national holiday.
Caernarfon-based Cwmni Da, which produces popular S4C TV programmes including Noson Lawen and Gogglebocs Cymru, is giving its employees an extra paid "bank holiday" on March 1 - a month after it gave its staff members a £500 bonus each to help with the cost of living.
The employee-owned firm said the extra day off will be above the usual holiday allowance and is the latest in a series of initiatives made by the company to support its workforce, alongside improving its policies on maternity, paternity and miscarriages.
