
Donald Trump probably assumed he didn’t have to worry about the Supreme Court during his second term. After all, the current composition of justices is 6-3 conservative, with Trump himself having nominated Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.
That trio, together with conservative stalwarts Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, led many to assume that they’d simply rubber-stamp anything that came across the docket for Trump. Fortunately for all of us, it hasn’t quite worked out that way.
