Raheem Sterling is on the verge of joining Chelsea, after the Manchester City winger agreed personal terms with the London club on Wednesday.
MEN Sport understands that the England star was convinced to join by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel earlier this week, who was able to give him better assurances over playing time than Pep Guardiola was.
City and Chelsea are expected to soon agree on a fee, and as previously reported by MEN Sport Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been negotiating privately over a price for Sterling with Txiki Begiristain and the City recruitment team for some weeks. The fee is likely to be in the region of £45m plus add-ons.

Sterling will go down as one of the greatest players in City's history. In seven years he has helped the Blues to win four Premier League titles, while only Lionel Messi has recorded more combined goals and assists in a Guardiola team than the 27-year-old.
The majority of City fans accept that now is probably the right time for City and Sterling to part ways, but many are still sad to see him leave.
@MartinW9000: What a player he’s been for City. Hope he’s a success at Chelsea, good luck.
@wayy2cozyy: I get he wanted to leave, but why Chelsea?
@a779457: Gutted to see him leave, especially to a Prem club however it does feel like the right time. He’s done fantastic things for this club and should leave with respect
@Haymla_17: Hard to put into words. Some players you assume will stay forever like Kun and David and Vinnie, and I always thought Raz would. Can’t begrudge him a move back to his childhood London and to Chelsea who will play to his strengths a lot more, farewell Raz thank you for everything
