Singer Jillian Lavin, known as Spritley, has shot to internet stardom after spilling the messy details of her breakup through song. And punters aren’t holding back on how they feel about her ex, their relationship and every single piece of tea that she shared in the tune.
Just like all musicians, Spritley decided to vent her emotions through her craft.
In the brutal TikTok song, the singer began by revealing that she’d been living with her boyfriend of three and a half years in Los Angeles and “everything was going amazing”.
However, things took a turn when he said he wanted to move to Texas to be “closer” to his dad. As a result, Spritley “gave up half of [her] career” to follow her then BF to another state.
“So you give up half of your career, quit your improv troupe and have a goodbye party,” Spritley sang before revealing that she depleted her savings to pay for the big move.
After waiting for a month for her furniture to arrive from LA to Texas, and another building her furniture, the singer sang that her mediocre boyfriend came back from a family vacation and broke up with her via a handwritten letter.
“‘Till he comes back from a family vacation, sits on your couch which just arrived in the mail and hands you a note that says we have nothing in common and we’re incompatible. Oh no,” she sang before belting out “how did I not notice?” that they had “nothing in common”.
The brutal breakup story ends with Spritley revealing that when their breakup was finalised, she moved into her mum’s place in Florida.

Since posting the brutally honest ballad, the TikTok has clocked more than 2.5 million views and 445.2K likes. Although most of the comments under the singer’s video have been quite supportive, some people have described the song as a lesson for others to never compromise their career for lovers.

In a third follow-up video, Spritley replied to a comment that claimed the singer wasn’t “paying close attention” to the first red flag, which they said was when the boyfriend said he wanted to move back to Texas.
“Y’all are acting like I just showed up in Texas and said ‘surprise’,” she joked before revealing that she has unconditional love for the ex.
She also added that the ex was reimbursing her for the moving costs which many people suggested she should go to court for.
In one final video, Spritley shared her struggles with getting over her ex, saying that her “heart won’t accept” that things are over.
“Tell me why thousands of people have told me he’s a trash bag and I still have sympathy for him,” Spritley shared.
Honestly, as someone who went through a somewhat similar thing (minus the cutting off a career and depleting savings stuff because a mediocre man could never in a million years), I think Spritley is doing a good job at handling her breakup because a girly produced a BANGER.
