My wife and I have been using a 1950s aluminium egg slicer that used to be my mother’s. We have had it for nearly 50 years (Letters, 2 October). We have no children. Any readers interested in acquiring this essential gadget when we shuffle off this mortal coil should apply through the letters desk. No charge apart from postage.
