Alan Ritchson always seems to be ripped; that’s not a secret. He works constantly, and more often than not, he’s pulling off difficult action sequences in said work. That’s especially true for Reacher. So, he has to stay in tip-top shape. However, you might think that when a show like that wraps, he relaxes a bit at the gym. But guess what? He doesn't, and he just explained why he keeps the six-pack during the off-season in a shirtless gym post.
Now, Reacher Season 4 wrapped production in November 2025. Then, in March 2026, Ritchson updated us, explaining that he’d finished ADR and the show would be “hitting the airwaves very soon.” However, just because they’ve wrapped another season of this Prime Video show does not mean the titular star is going to stop staying in Jack Reacher shape, as he posted on Instagram:
Well, the photo speaks for itself. Alan Ritchson is in fantastic shape. However, there are deep reasons behind this choice to essentially stay in Reacher shape. While he could cool down the workouts a bit in the off-season, I have mad respect for why he really doesn’t. In the words of the actor:
Between season check in! Somewhat similar to a during-filming-season check in. Maybe just a few pounds lighter. Because… there are no seasons when it comes to staying healthy and strong. Make it a lifestyle. That’s today’s magic pill. It may not be the one you wanted, but it tastes better than raw egg whites! No one’s ever gagged doing a push-up #Knowwhatimean!?
Clearly, the War Machine star has made staying in impeccable shape part of his day-to-day life. It obviously has tons of benefits too. The photo shows that off, however, as the actor said, consistency has lots of other benefits too. For example, I'd assume it will be easier for him to hop right back into work if Reacher gets renewed for a fifth season.
Now, speaking of Reacher, I’m hopeful that Season 4 will premiere on the 2026 TV schedule. It seems very possible, and my excitement for it only grows every time the Playdate actor talks about it.
I’m not kidding, the upcoming book-to-screen adaptation has been very hyped up by Ritchson. At first, he was worried it wouldn’t top Season 3, but he quickly realized that this new installment is “different,” and he said that he thinks it's “for sure the best season.”
Along with the actor explaining how great he thinks the season is, he also called out the action in it. At one point, he said what we’re about to see is so “high octane” that people should check their “heart health” before they watch. Well, considering the fights he got in during Season 3 and his pristine physique, I have no doubt Ritchson and his crew figured out how to up the action ante for Season 4.
So, get ready, folks. Clearly, Alan Ritchson is committed to the part (even during his off-time), and he’s confident in what they’re about to deliver to fans. With that said, make sure you have your Amazon Prime subscriptions ready. Reacher is coming back.
Meanwhile, Alan Ritchson’s abs aren’t going anywhere.
