A report cleared Garcetti and adviser. Attorney for LAPD officer denounces the findings

LOS ANGELES — A confidential, city-commissioned report on sexual harassment allegations made against a former political adviser to Mayor Eric Garcetti, given to a Senate panel, found no evidence that the adviser acted inappropriately or that Garcetti witnessed anything inappropriate.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved Garcetti's nomination by President Joe Biden to be U.S. ambassador to India in January, two months after the panel received the report from the mayor's office.

The report remained confidential until last week — a day after The Times reported that it had been given to the Senate panel — raising questions about the city's handling of the document.
