Pocahontas's Celestial Celebration is finally here, but in the midst of the final preparations, a trail that leads to her missing friend Meeko appears in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To find the missing Raccoon and finally enjoy the festival, you need to tackle the A Raccoon's Return quest.
This is Pocahontas's level 10 friendship mission, which means it's her biggest and most complex quest. Since most of it revolves around a mystery, it's an especially tricky one to get done, so here's a complete walkthrough for the A Raccoon's Return quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete A Raccoon's Return in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Put the Moontide Glow decorations on Dazzle Beach
To start, Pocahontas asks you to place some Moontide Glow decorations around Dazzle Beach for the Celestial Celebration. Open your inventory, switch over to the Furniture tab, and select Pocahontas's quest icon. Place four Moontide Glow Lampposts and one Moontide Glow Banner anywhere within the Dazzle Beach region. Once you're done, meet up with Pocahontas to chat about what comes next.
Investigate inside the Cursed Cave
Remy had food for the celebration stored in the Cursed Cave, but something ate it, which means the festival is now in jeopardy. Head over to the Cursed Cave, which is located near the very eastern edge of the Dazzle Beach region. This is a different location from the Mystical Cave, which is another cavern in this biome located near the middle area.
Take a picture of the paw prints inside the Cursed Cave
Once you're in the cave, walk over to the left side to spot some glowing paw prints. Snap a picture with the paw prints, then track down Pocahontas to show her what you found. She recognizes the prints right away and is sure you can use them to find Meeko.
Gather materials for the Moontide Glow Necklace
To find more of Meeko's pawprints, you need a way to reveal them, which is where a special Moontide Glow Necklace comes into play. Next, you need to gather materials to craft this item, including:
- Five Glass – Can be crafted using five Sand and one Coal Ore.
- Five Fiber – Can be crafted using one Seaweed.
- Five White Impatiens – Can be found growing in the wild around the Forgotten Lands biome.
- Five Glowing Algae – Can be found by fishing and digging around Dazzle Beach. It can be found in some golden ripple spots while fishing, and dug up from regular sparkling spots around the area. I found three pieces from fishing and two from digging.
Once you have all the required resources, meet up with Pocahontas to give them to her.
Bring a Moontide Glow Necklace to villagers
Pocahontas will make and give you a few necklaces, so you then need to track down the required villagers to give each of them a Moontide Glow Necklace. Meet up with Wall-E, Mike, and Cinderella to grant each one of them this special accessory. After giving away the three necklaces, head back to the Cursed Cave to meet up with Pocahontas.
Put on the Moontide Glow Necklace and black clothes
Pocahontas has a necklace for you, too, so equip the Moontide Glow Necklace she grants you. After this, you'll also need to put on some black clothes to help the necklace shine brighter, making it easier to track down Meeko's paw prints. You can filter your closet with the required tags by clicking Pocahontas's quest icon.
Follow the paw prints on Dazzle Beach
Once you're dressed for the part, exit the Cursed Cave to arrive in the Dazzle Beach region. Look down to spot some glowing paw prints, and head down the beach, following their path as you go. Be sure to keep the Moontide Glow Necklace equipped for now, as you need it for the prints to appear, similar to how the Substitute Snout works in Lady and the Tramp quests like The Jailbreak, Meatballs, and The Spaghetti Incident.
If you lose track of the paw prints at any point, you can just head right to where they eventually end, which is the dock near the west end of the biome. Talk to Pocahontas at this location.
Talk to Merlin
A strange whirlpool manifested near the dock, and it seems like Meeko might be inside. You're unsure how to rescue him, though, so seek out the help of the valley's resident expert in anything and everything, Merlin.
Gather materials to make Raccoon Bait
Merlin says you need a special type of bait to rescue Meeko, so you now need to gather the required materials to craft some Raccoon Bait. The resources you need to obtain for this step are:
- Three Gooseberries – Can be picked from Gooseberry Bushes. There are six of these bushes around the valley, two of which initially start off in Frosted Heights, and four that originate from the Forgotten Lands. You can move them anywhere, though, so their exact location varies depending on what you did with them.
- Three Raspberries – Can be picked from Raspberry Bushes. Two bushes start off in the Plaza, and four start off in the Peaceful Meadow. They can freely be moved anywhere else, so they may be elsewhere in your valley.
- Three Blueberries – Can be picked from Blueberry Bushes. Two originate from Dazzle Beach, and three start off in the Forest of Valor. Like the other fruit bushes, you can move them anywhere, which means they are likely somewhere else in your village.
- Five Fiber – Can be crafted using one Seaweed.
- Five Dream Shards – Can be obtained by digging sparkling spots, feeding critters, and removing Night Thorns, Splinters of Fate, and Inkies.
Craft the Raccoon Bait
With the required resources gathered, head to any crafting station in your valley. Click on Pocahontas's quest icon and select the Raccoon Bait option to make this item. Then, meet up with Pocahontas to give it to her. Follow her over to the dock at Dazzle Beach and chat with her again there. After this, a cutscene will play as you finally manage to rescue Meeko.
Investigate the letter in your inventory
When the cutscene ends, Pocahontas will pass you a letter she found attached to Meeko's fur. Open your inventory and click on the letter, which is called The Realmweaver's Note, to open and read it. Chat with Pocahontas one last time after this to finish the A Raccoon's Return quest and officially unlock her level 10 friendship rewards.
