A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman in tears in emotional episode

A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman burst into tears during a 'special episode' of the show. The 47-year-old shared a selfie in Cyprus and posted about the episode in the wake of co-host Jonnie Irwin's announcement of his terminal cancer diagnosis, reports Leicestershire Live.

She wrote on Instagram: "Today at 3pm on Channel 4 a very special episode of A Place in the Sun. It was probably the episode where I cried the most EVER! With lovely Themis and Paolo in Kapparis in Cyprus."

Sharing a message of support, Jasmine wrote on Instagram: "Sending lots of love and support to my great friend and original partner in crime @jonnieirwintv. I know it has taken bravery to share your story. As ever a true inspiration & always positive and up for a laugh no matter what the circumstances. Love to you and your beautiful family #inspirational #friends #brave #positivity."

The comment section quickly filled with support and love for the sunny location and special episode. One user said: "Just watched it, beautiful place, & loved the property they chose, you get very emotional with your clients Jasmine, you do such a great job."

Another added: "I really love these too, there’s something so sweet about them! Glad they got their dream x." One viewer complimented Jasmine and said: "You are a lovely, empathetic person x."

Her post is an acknowledgement of Jonnie's revelation at the weekend that he had lung cancer which had spread to his brain. The 48-year-old, who also presents BBC ’s Escape To The Country, told fans "I don’t know how long I have left." He first knew something was wrong in August 2020 when he was filming on location in Italy for the show. His vision had become blurry whilst he was driving.

He said: "Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live. I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was devastating. "All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible.

The presenter has a three-year-old called Rex and two-year-old twins called Rafa and Cormac with his wife Jessica. He was diagnosed two years ago but decided to keep it private until the weekend. He told Hello magazine : "It’s got to the point now where it feels like I’m carrying a dirty secret, it’s become a monkey on my back.

"I hope that by shaking that monkey off I might inspire people who are living with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day, to help them see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying."
