Presenters of A Place In The Sun have rallied around co-star Jonnie Irwin following the devastating news he has terminal cancer.
Jonnie, 48, went public with the sad news this week and admitted he doesn't know how long he has left to live. The former presenter of the homes in the sun show and BBC's Escape To The Country revealed his lung cancer had spread to his brain and admitted he's determined to "make the most of every day".
Following his announcement a number of old co-stars from the Channel 4 show took to social media to praise him for his brave announcement and to offer their support to their pal.
Among those writing a heartfelt comment on Instagram was Danni Menzies, who called Jonnie a "ledge".
She penned: "So incredibly brave to share you’re diagnosis with the world. A true inspiration to us all to cherish all the moments we can with the people we love. Love and laughs always to you and you’re gorge fam. [sic]"
She uploaded a recent image of her and Jonnie sharing a laugh and her words were echoed by Jasmine Harman who also shared pics of the pair smiling.
She wrote: "Sending lots of love and support to my great friend and original partner in crime @jonnieirwintv. I know it has taken bravery to share your story. As ever a true inspiration & always positive and up for a laugh no matter what the circumstances. love to you and your beautiful family #inspirational #friends #brave #positivity"
The post was also liked by Danni and received a number of positive messages in the comments section, to which Jasmine later thanked her fans for.
Laura Hamiliton shared an image of her with Jonnie and Jasmine from what seemed to be the same occasion as Jasmine's snap. She captioned the post: "Sending so much love and respect to you and your family Jonnie. We all know how tough it has been for you to share your story... It comes after Jonnie spoke with Hello! to share his heartbreaking news. He explained the first warning sign of his illness came while he was filming the show in August 2020 in Italy and noticed his vision had become blurry while driving.
He revealed: "Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live.
"I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was devastating."
