A recent episode of daytime TV favourite A Place In The Sun contained a stark warning for anyone in the UK wishing to move to Spain.
The sunny European country is a popular choice for expats, as it's often more affordable to buy a house there - not to mention the vastly better weather.

But if you're seriously looking at buying a property there, it's vital to do your research on what you can afford - as one person on the Channel 4 show found out from presenter Laura Hamilton.
Birmingham Live reports that house prices in Spain are still fairly unsettled, as a recent episode saw guest Jennie searching for her dream home in the sun.
The show saw Jennie try to purchase a two-bedroom holiday home in the Costa del Sol in Spain with a budget of £85,000. Laura was forced to step in and tell Jennie she needed to up her budget.
She said: "I have to give you a serious reality check, a budget of under £90,000 for a two-bedroom property is going to be exceptionally tough. So I think in terms of your budget, we are definitely going to need to have some flexibility there."
Laura showed her guest a selection of different properties in the resort town of Estepona in the Costa del Sol.
But the flats were smaller than the guest thought they would be, so she decided not to make an offer on any of the properties.
The TV presenter believes that many people looking to buy a home in the European country haven't realised that the Spanish property market hasn't recovered.
