Amnesia: The Dark Descent is hands down one of the best horror games of all time. It makes use of the classic video game trope—amnesia, get it?—to propel your exploration of a decrepit German castle, feeding you only as much information as it has to while pitting you against your own mind.
It’s a brilliant title and one that’s had a tremendous impact on pop culture, especially while it was still fresh and new. It’s what launched PewDiePie’s career, after all, and as we all know, that alone had a lot of ramifications down the line. Frictional Games released other entries and made an entire franchise out of it, but none of them ever struck the same way as TDD.
So it’s now getting a “new version,” apparently, whatever that means.
