Work is underway to transform the rooftop of Bruntwood Works’ Blackfriars House into a wine-led restaurant and bar space with panoramic views of Manchester’s skyline. Climat, located in Parsonage Gardens conservation zone, will open its doors this autumn.
The launch represents a ‘second instalment’ for the team behind popular Chester wine and food spot, Covino, which recently landed itself a place in the Michelin guide. The Chester branch started out as a 300 sq ft restaurant and bar in 2016, before moving to bigger premises and graduating to a fully fledged restaurant.
Climat will focus on seasonally inspired dishes, or as the owners put it “food you want to eat”. The daily changing food menu will be complemented by a curated collection of 250 different wines, with a particular focus on varieties from the Burgundy region.
