Comfey, the Lei Pokemon, makes their debut in the Pokemon Unite soon, the Pokemon Company and TiMi Games announced on Twitter. The new addition to the MOBA game‘s roster will be available on Feb. 2, 2023, on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices and is reportedly a special attacker.
The Pokemon Company didn’t share details about what to expect from Comfey, but Pokemon Unite leaks from 2022 suggest they’ll be a blend of support and attack who can attach themselves to allies and grant buffs. This feature is unique to Comfey and is also in line with their role in mainline Pokemon games, where they’re meant to offer refreshment and ease to those around them.
As for actual attacks, the leaks point to Grass Knot and Magical Leaf as likely move candidates, alongside Sweet Kiss and Charm.

Comfey’s announcement comes as a surprise, following another round of datamining in 2022 that leaked several of Pokemon Unite’s upcoming critters, including Zoroark and Clefable. Comfey was not on the list, nor was the last addition, Dragopult, so it’s likely The Pokemon Company has plenty more surprises up its sleeve as well.
How much this surprise will cost is unclear, though new Pokemon tend to go for about $8 or $10 in the free-to-play Pokemon Unite.
