A new competition is giving Australians the chance to swap corporate life for the open road, stepping into a full-time role as the country’s next travel reviewer.
Coming just as more Aussies are choosing to holiday closer to home, The Big Aussie Review, a push by Big 4 Holiday Parks, is offering the chance for one lucky winner and their mates to take a year off and spend 12 months travelling through Australia’s best holiday destinations, publicly reviewing their experiences for the world to see.
Think Carrie Bradshaw, if she and Big had ditched Paris and opted for a caravan in the outback instead.

So, what would this entail?
Well, according to Big 4 Holiday Parks CEO Sean Jenner, this comp is all about “shining the spotlight onto the magical stuff and celebrating what makes travel in Australia so special”.
The winner will be given a Ford Ranger and a caravan, and since the Ford Ranger includes five seats, that means you and four of your fave peeps can clock off work and spend the next 365 days travelling across the country.
Their task will be to document and review stops along their journey, with a particular focus on uncovering lesser-known gems and highlighting regional communities that deserve more attention. They’ll share recommendations, travel tips, adrenaline-pumping opportunities and little-known insights for fellow travellers planning their own getaways.
Along with the years’ worth of accommodation, the prize also includes fuel throughout the journey, a weekly allowance for food, a brand new iPhone and $8,000 AUD worth of content creation gear.
Where would you travel?
While most accommodation will be at Big 4 Holiday Parks throughout the country, the competition aims to encourage travel throughout rural Australia, with the winners travelling from the Top End down to Tassie.
So, if you’ve been itching for a career change or are ready to ditch the 9-5 and hit the open road, head to Big 4’s site and submit a 60-second video explaining why you’re the perfect candidate.
It’s one hell of a way to make the most of your annual leave.
