A National Guard member deployed to Washington, D.C., as part of a mission launched by President Donald Trump has been arrested for carrying an unauthorized firearm after a traffic stop by U.S. Park Police.
Spec. Jakob Noonan, 22, of the Oklahoma Guard, was arrested Monday and charged with the gun-related offense. According to documents reviewed by The Associated Press, the soldier was riding with a fellow Guard member when a U.S. Park Police officer stopped the vehicle for an expired tag.
Noonan’s arrest marks the second time in two months that a member of the task force has been arrested.
