A Michigan fan mocking Ohio State mid-game became an instant meme

There’s no shortage of trash-talking and taunting during rivalry games, and, of course, Saturday’s Michigan-Ohio State game was no exception. And this Michigan fan seemingly taunting the Buckeyes in Ann Arbor became an instant internet meme.

While referees were delivering Michigan a favorable spot at midfield early in the game, Fox Sports cameras captured one Wolverines fan holding up his fingers and gesturing as if to say teasingly, “Oh, so close.” (We think, anyway.)

Regardless of what message this Michigan fan was trying to convey, college football fans did what they do best and turned it into a funny meme.

The results are pretty inspired.

As you can imagine, college football fans got very creative with the memes for this one.
