The Chicago Bulls were widely expected to have a very busy day on the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline. But that is quite far from what ended up happening with the Bulls, Chicago’s front office instead electing to stand pat at the deadline instead.
What is the reasoning for the team not moving off of several contracts that were in demand at the deadline? Players like DeMar DeRozan and Andre Drummond are on expiring deals and can leave this offseason for nothing. Add in the frenzy to pry loose 3-andD specialist guard Alex Caruso, and you have to wonder what the thinking was for this course of (non) action.
Chicago beat writer KC Johnson and NBC Sports Boston’s Kevin Anderson, and Kendall Gill took some time to weigh in on what they saw from the Bulls’ front office at the 2024 trade deadline.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
