HBO Max's "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" has taken us back to Westeros to recount the first adventure of Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire, Egg (Dexter Sol-Ansell). This short, smaller-scale "Game of Thrones" spinoff has more than proven its worth thus far. TG's Malcolm McMillan even proclaimed last week's episode the best of any show so far this year.
After HBO dropped the preceding episode a couple of days early (so fantasy fans could still tune in to Super Bowl LX), we're returning to the show's normal schedule this evening, which has meant early viewers have had to wait a little longer than normal to see what's next for Dunk and Egg.
Given his stirring speech to the tournament crowds, I'm sure I'm not the only viewer who's been desperate to see how this "Trial of Seven" will pan out. However, before he trades blows with Aerion Targaryen foe in battle, it looks like he'll be facing up to his past, as the preview trailer for episode 5 shows us a younger Dunk (alongside some brutal battle footage).
If you can't wait to see what's coming, here's when you can expect to stream "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" episode 5 on HBO Max and elsewhere around the world.

Is 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' season 2 happening?

If you were at all worried about the future of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," don't be: HBO has already confirmed this second "Game of Thrones" spinoff will be back to recount the next of Dunk and Egg's adventures.
The show's renewal was confirmed back in November 2025. At that time, Casey Boys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max Content, confirmed the show would be returning; expect it to air at some point in 2027.
"House of the Dragon," meanwhile, will return for its third season this summer, and the fourth — which we already know will be the show's last — is currently planned for 2028.
