'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' episode 4 release date and time: Here's when it's streaming on HBO Max

Dunk (Peter Claffey) stands in a candlelit chamber in "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" episode 4 on HBO Max.

After a "Game of Thrones"-less 2025, HBO Max's "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" has taken us back to Westeros to recount the first adventure of Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire, Egg (Dexter Sol-Ansell) — and the next episode's about to reunite us with the pair even earlier than usual.

Yes, if you're planning to tune in to Super Bowl LX this weekend, you'll be pleased to know you won't have to dodge "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" spoilers, as HBO has confirmed episode 4 is getting an early release on HBO Max.

That's good news, too, as Dunk's truly in hot water. Having saved Tanselle from Aerion Targaryen, our bumbling hedge knight faces a "Trial of Seven," and must gather six men to fight alongside him. Judging by the impassioned speech he gives from horseback in the preview trailer, gathering those allies might be a tall order...

If you can't wait to see what's coming, here's when you can expect to stream "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" episode 4 on HBO Max and elsewhere around the world.

What time does 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' episode 4 release on HBO Max?

As I predicted (and earlier reported), "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" episode 4 is getting an earlier release this year, presumably to avoid competing with Super Bowl LX.

Instead of premiering in its usual 10 p.m. ET Sunday night slot, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" episode 4 will premiere early at 3:01 a.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 6 on HBO Max. If you'd prefer to watch on linear TV, the episode will still air on HBO on Sunday, Feb. 8, in that 10 p.m. slot.

It's only a minor schedule shake-up, and it does mean fantasy fans can catch the next leg of Dunk and Egg's first adventure a little earlier than usual. And as it's been moved up at HBO Max, the episode will also be available early around the world, too:

  • U.S. – Friday, February 6 at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET
  • Canada – Friday, February 6 at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET
  • U.K. – Friday, February 6 at 8 a.m. GMT
  • Australia – Friday, February 6 at 7 p.m. AEDT

'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' full release schedule

If you were at all worried about the future of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," don't be: HBO has already confirmed this second "Game of Thrones" spinoff will be sticking around to recount another of Dunk and Egg's adventures.

The show's renewal was confirmed back in November 2025. At that time, Casey Boys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max Content, confirmed the show would be returning; expect it to air at some point in 2027.

"House of the Dragon," meanwhile, will return for its third season this summer, and the fourth — which we already know will be the show's last — is currently planned for 2028.
