Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry caught a little heat from a very opportunistic Sacramento Kings fan during the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs.
As Golden State faced Sacramento on the road, the atmosphere looked electric at Golden 1 Center as the Kings won their first playoff game in 17 years in a marathon, 126-123.
As Curry fouled Kings guard De’Aaron Fox late in the contest, a young Sacramento fan sitting courtside attempted to troll the Warriors guard with a very confusing taunt.
The fan tried to hold up the number “40” with his hands and he yelled something that looked NSFW as ESPN blurred his lips during the taunting.
If it was to signal Fox had scored 40 points on the Warriors, it’d be incorrect, as Fox only scored 38 points in the game. If he was taunting that Fox had played 40 minutes in the game, that’d be a bit of a strange thing to brag about?

Curry really didn’t seem too phased by the courtside taunting, as he’s accustomed to how riled up NBA fans can get when they’re able to interact with the players.
The real irony is that the young man holding up a “4” and a “0” with his fingers could indicate the number of championships that the Warriors have won since Curry arrived compared to the number of championships that the Kings have won since the team moved to California in the 1980s.
If anything, this Kings fan just fueled the likelihood that Curry will go off in the second game of the playoff series.
