A Jets’ win over Texans helps Cardinals with draft

The Arizona Cardinals will not play this weekend. They have their bye week.

They can neither improve nor hurt their win-loss record.

As things stand entering the week, they own the third and the 18th picks in the 2024 NFL draft.

They will not move from the third pick this weekend but their second pick in the first-round, which is from the Houston Texans, could move and it would benefit the Cardinals if the Texans lose.

The Texans face the New York Jets on the road in Week 14. The Jets have lost 5 straight games.

A Jets win would make the Texans 7-6, moving their pick up the draft.

As things currently stand, the Texans would make the playoffs and then, based on how far they advance, the pick could get lower and lower.

So this weekend, Cardinals fans should be rooting for Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, back in the starting lineup after being benched for three weeks, to have a big game against the Texans.
