A wardrobe upgrade does not always mean chasing the latest trend. It can also mean buying clothes that are comfortable, versatile and durable enough to be worn repeatedly. For Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo, this focus towards everyday essentials is translating into a bigger business in India.
Uniqlo India’s revenue rose 44% year-on-year to Rs 1,724 crore in the year ended March 2026, while net profit increased 41% to Rs 253 crore, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies. The retailer, which entered India seven years ago, has more than quadrupled its revenue since FY22, building its presence through a network of over 20 stores.
