Top-ranked South Carolina preserved its undefeated season Saturday when center Kamilla Cardoso knocked down a buzzer-beating three-pointer to defeat Tennessee 74–73 in the SEC tournament semifinals.
It was Cardoso’s first three-pointer of her four-year collegiate career.
Among those watching was A’ja Wilson, the two-time WNBA MVP and proud Gamecocks alum. She made sure to talk smack to Las Vegas Aces teammate and Volunteers legend Candace Parker, who briefly thought her alma mater was heading to the SEC championship before Cardoso banked in the triple.

That was the third time South Carolina (31–0) defeated Tennessee (19–12) this season, and the second time in the last week.
It appears Wilson won a friendly wager against Parker for a second time. The 37-year-old veteran might have to show up to an Aces game rocking Gamecocks gear, just like Aces guard Kelsey Plum did in 2021.
