It’s official: we will soon be saying bonjour to another season of Emily In Paris. The hit Netflix show, which follows bubbly American marketing execute Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) as she navigates life, love and work in the city of love, is returning for a fourth season.
Fans also now have another reason to rejoice with the season four trailer officially here.
Below, watch the trailer and find out everything you need to know about the cast, plot and release date of Emily In Paris season four.
When Is The Emily In Paris Season Four Release Date?
Netflix confirmed the show would be getting a fourth season in January 2022. However, after a few delays, we finally have a confirmed release date for season four: August 15.
Taking to Instagram, the show’s star, Lily Collins, unveiled the premiere date and another not-previously-known secret — the season would be split into two parts.
While Part One of Emily In Paris season 4 will drop on August 15, Part Two won’t arrive until September 12.
It’s been a long wait for fans of the series, with season three released in December 2022. The filming was delayed due to the Hollywood writers strike so there has been a lot of anticipation given that season three finale left fans on a major cliff-hanger.
Production on the latest season began in January 2024. Lily Collins took a photo of herself with a table read-through script dated January 17, and she even wore an Eiffel Tower set in honour of the series.
“Did someone say Saison Quatre?! Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good. Although, I may need to brush up on my selfie skills for Emily’s sake…” she wrote.
Will Emily Actually Be ‘In Paris’ For Season 4?
Despite showrunners and Lily Collins herself talking a lot about filming season four in Paris, it seems that the whole season will not actually take place in the city of love.
In April filming was back underway, but reportedly much of the new Netflix series will be set in Italy, specifically in Rome.
Whether or not this has to do with Paris being soon to host the Olympics – and thus a much more difficult city to film in – remains to be seen. But it seems that Emily could be swapping her “Bonjour’s” for “Buongiorno’s”.
“While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season,” Lily Collins, who plays Emily said at a 2023 Netflix event. “Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”
What Is The Plot Of Emily In Paris Season Four ?
Considering that the end of season three left us with a few unanswered questions, we have a few clues about what we might be seeing happen in the fourth season.
The first plot point we’re hoping to see is of course, Emily’s love life. At the end of season three, Emily was still entangled in a love triangle with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). In the same final episode, we also learned that Camille (Camille Razat) was pregnant with Gabriel’s baby, but in love with newcomer Sofia (Melia Kreiling).
In an interview with Deadline, Show creator Darren Starr also gave us a few hints about the upcoming plot points.
“[Emily and Gabriel] are star-crossed lovers. I think that a big question to think about the next season is [remembering that] Emily didn’t come to Paris for romance—she came for a job. I think they’re both in a different, more mature place in their lives, definitely a more complicated place,” he said.
Who Is Cast In Season Four Of Emily In Paris?
Luckily for us, Lily Collins will return as Emily and Lucas Bravo will also return as Gabriel.
Fellow regulars will also return, including Camille Razat as Camille, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Samuel Arnold as Julian and Bruno Gouery as Luc.
We’re also excited to learn that Rupert Everett (who famously played George in the 1997 classic, My Best Friend’s Wedding) will be joining the cast as Giorgio Barbieri, an old friend of Sylvie’s and owner of an interior design firm in Rome.
According to Netflix, Giorgio “makes it his business to know everyone else’s business, and to be the life of every party.”
Also joining the cast is Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello, a man who is “substantive but never flashy” and “true to the roots of his family’s company. Thalia Besson will also be joining as Genevieve, the 20-something daughter of Laurent from a previous relationship. She will add a complication to Emily’s life “both professionally and personally.”
Anna Galiena will be playing Antonia MuratorI, Marcello’s mother and the matriarch of the Muratori family, while Raoul Bova will star as Giancarlo, a successful Roman commercial director and Sylvie’s ex-film professor.
Finally, we understand Lucien Laviscount will indeed return as Alfie, after the cliff hanger of season three called into question his ongoing relationship with Emily. Whether or not it’s a happy ending for these two is yet to be revealed…
