A 'family tech agreement' and other ways to help keep children safe online

With children having more access to screen time, internet safety is a growing concern for many parents. Cases such as the tragic death of Molly Russell have led to increased calls for improved internet safety.

Progress on an online safety bill was paused but is expected to resume in late October. In the meantime, internet expert Allison Troutner from VPNOverview.com has listed some ways to keep your child safe online.

One way to set ground rules with your child, she says, is to create a family tech agreement. It’s a good way for the whole family to talk about safe and responsible online behaviours and set boundaries.
