We have officially reached peak Swelce (that’s my terrible couple name for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, use or don’t).
That’s right, between the reports about arguably the biggest star in the music world and the Super Bowl champion tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs being a couple have reached a fever pitch. Now, we finally heard from one of the parties involved in this pairing, which means it’s time to look back at how this all started and how we got to the point of, “Uh, are Kelce and Swift dating? Sort of?”

July 2023: Kelce says on his podcast with brother Jason that he tried to give Swift his number
On the New Heights podcast, Travis mentioned he went to a Swift concert and wrote his number on a friendship bracelet to give to her, but — alas — he didn’t get to do so.

September 14, 2023: Reports start to drop about them hanging out
Anonymous sources revealed that the two weren’t fully dating but that they had been “hanging out.” What did that exactly mean? It was open to interpretation, but it was something.

September 21, 2023: A new report says there's something going on!
We got more details! From The Messenger:
“She and Travis have hung out twice, and it’s nothing serious. She thinks he is very charming, and they have been texting this last week.” …
“He is a little embarrassed at how much attention they are getting, but he has told her he would love to continue seeing her.”
The source adds: “They are seeing where things go.” However, the football star has some stiff competition for the singer’s attention. “Her friends are always playfully suggesting people to set her up with,” the source continues. The singer, who is in the midst of her record-breaking Eras Tour, is “in her fun girl era and strictly having fun right now.”
