Passengers at Manchester Airport have reported facing more delays and long queues this morning as the travel chaos continues.
Pictures taken inside the departures area of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 this morning showed huge queues building up for security, as well as at the check-in desks. Passengers have also been tweeting about their experience at the airport, with some saying the situation there this morning is an 'absolute shambles'.
John Dallinger said getting through the airport - which has been plagued with weeks of huge security queues, baggage delays and crowded check-in halls - was a 'complete nightmare'.

He tweeted this morning: "@manairport Arrived at the airport at 6.15am for a 9.20am flight, 3 hours of a complete nightmare. Never will I or everyone else I spoke to use Man airport again. Awful experience!!!"
Gareth Melling tweeted: "@manairport you have taken the fun out of families going on holiday, absolute shambles just to get through check-in and security."
Graham also said on Twitter: "@manairport another day another shambles at T1. The worst airport in Europe."
The airport apologised in a tweet posted on their official account this morning. It said: "As we continue to recover from the pandemic and passenger numbers grow, security queues may be longer than usual at times. If you're due to travel in the next few weeks, please arrive at the earliest time your airline allows. We apologise to our customers for the disruption."
This comes amid ongoing mayhem at the airport, which councillor Pat Karney said is down to 'failure of management' and could continue for weeks. Passengers have reported abandoning their suitcases after waiting long enough and baggage handlers have said they are ‘under more stress than ever’.
On April 1, a shocking video emerged showing passengers jostling for space as they went through security checks, prompting concerns that 'someone will get hurt'. The airport was then hit with another blow over this weekend as easyJet cancelled hundreds of flights across the country because of 'high levels of sickness among employees caused by Covid'.
Bosses last month warned passengers could face queues for ‘several weeks’ after admitting they are struggling with staff shortages. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said they have also struggled with the easing of restrictions as well as a large number of bags being rejected at security.
Manchester Airport's managing director Karen Smart said that getting back to full strength would 'take time' and over the next few weeks it may take 'longer than it should' to get through the airport.
"The extensive security checks and training for new security officers mean we've not been able to keep pace with the rapid growth in demand - but we are interviewing hundreds of candidates every week and new colleagues are coming into the operation every day," she added.
