Eight Baptist Health hospitals will receive a portion of a record-setting gift. A central Kentucky healthcare facility is among those recipients.
Maternity services at the eight hospitals including Baptist Health Richmond will be positively impacted by the $5 million gift. The Kosair for Kids philanthropic contribution is the largest in the history of the Baptist Health Foundation.
That money will be invested in equipment and physician-led initiatives to assist pediatric services. It will be recognized by renaming the service: Baptist Health Mother and Baby Care supported by Kosair for Kids.
In addition to support for medical initiatives and equipment, the agreement means sharing of Kosair’s Face It Movement information to help end child abuse and neglect.
Baptist Health Richmond President Greg Gerard said the gift will advance the care to every new mother and baby cared for. The Louisville-based Kosair charity is marking its 100th anniversary this year and serves nearly 200,000 children annually.
