In a league featuring world-class athletes like the NBA, sometimes you forget how fast the game can come back the other way. That’s a vital lesson a Boston Celtics ball boy learned on Wednesday night.
As Boston worked on finishing off an eventual 139-96 blowout win over the Brooklyn Nets, forward Yuta Watanabe found himself with a wide-open lane in transition. Within NBA contexts, it was a perfectly normal play. There was just one problem: the said ball boy seemingly lost track of what was happening in the game and was caught in the middle of Watanabe’s drive.
Talk about saying “oops” on this amusing late-game miscue:
Ball boy was really running for his life 🤣

To the ball boy’s credit, he absolutely galloped off the court the moment he noticed Watanabe and the Nets coming back the other way. Hey, if you get caught up in the action, the least you can do is recover quickly. But to have it recorded on camera remains one of the funnier bloopers thus far from this NBA.
NBA fans thought the ballboy running off the court during Celtics-Nets was hilarious
