A Castlevania legend made non-canon by the Metroidvania series could be making her return in Belmont's Curse, even if it makes no sense in the timeline: "Trevor’s mom became his daughter, ain’t no way"

Fans think that Castlevania: Belmont's Curse could be reviving a character who was struck from the series' canon.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse throws the series back to its 2D roots and is set to feature a descendant of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades from Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse roaming about Paris 23-years after the events of that game. Some are speculating this to be Sonia Belmont – who starred in Castlevania Legends and the cancelled Castlevania Resurrection – thanks to a striking resemblance to the character.
