A breed apart: Telangana folk artistes in tune with their roots

HYDERABAD: For someone who was living in obscurity to being honoured with the nation’s fourth civilian honour Padma Shri has been quite a journey for Darshanam Moglaiah of Telangana. The 12-step Kinnera artiste has caught the fancy of the world for playing of the instrument and singing.

Research scholar Dasari Ranga who first ‘discovered’ Moglaiah over the years found more rare folk talent.
