Every year the Pantone Color Institute crowns one shade its Color of the Year. The tradition began all the way back in 1999 with Pantone 15-4020 Cerulean Blue. Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is about to give up the title to Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse starting January 1, 2025. In anticipation, we decided to go ahead and put together a list (and checked it twice) of the must-have Mocha Mousse pieces to help you get in on the trend from Day 1.
Our picks run the gamut from clothing for all seasons to shoes and even accessories. That way you can hit the ground running and keep going straight through December 31, 2025. While some outlets are simply referring to the shade as chocolate or basic brown, the truth is it's far more complex. It has elements of milk chocolate or a strong cup of slightly creamy coffee. That means you should skip dark browns, tans and taupes. Don't assume that the term "chocolate" is universal. It's actually used pretty loosely and covers everything from almost black to borderline bronze.
