A$AP Rocky has been arrested at LAX airport in connection with an alleged shooting, according to reports.

The rapper – real name Rakim Mayers – was reportedly returning from a holiday in Barbados with pregnant girlfriend Rihanna when police took him into custody at the airport in Los Angeles.

Mayers’ lawyer, Alan Jackson, is said to have confirmed that the arrest took place and that it was in relation to a shooting on November 6, 2021.

According to NBC News, the victim – who survived the shooting – allegedly told police that the 33-year-old approached him with a gun in the street where the Sundress hit-maker was reportedly accompanied by two others.

The man claims Mayers shot at him up to four times and that one of the bullets grazed his left hand, according to reports.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) were said to have been carrying out a private investigation for some time.

LAPD are said to have made the arrest with assistance from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations team.

The Standard has contacted a representative for A$AP Rocky for comment.

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna first confirmed that they were expecting a child together in February.

The Umbrella singer is expected to give birth this spring.

The couple were recently forced to deny claims that they had split following claims he had been unfaithful.
